By downloading, installing, or using the Kid Storytime mobile application (the "App") or visiting kidstorytime.app (the "Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App or Site.
If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of a minor child, you represent that you are the parent or legal guardian of that child and that you accept these Terms on their behalf.
These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Kid Storytime ("we", "us", or "our"). The Privacy Policy at kidstorytime.app/privacy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
2. Description of Service
Kid Storytime is an iOS application that generates personalised bedtime stories for children using artificial intelligence. The App accepts inputs including (but not limited to) a child's first name, age, preferred language, story length, and a chosen life lesson or theme, and uses these inputs to produce a unique story narrative.
Additional features include:
Text-to-speech narration of generated stories
Free-tier generation limits, currently 1 short story per day
Longer story lengths, background sound layers, calming narration, custom lessons, and ritual presets as Premium features
Story library for saving and re-reading generated stories
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time with or without notice, though we will endeavour to provide reasonable notice for material changes that affect paid features.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 17 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater) to download and use the App. The App is designed to be used by adults — parents, guardians, and caregivers — on behalf of children. Children should not use the App independently or create any account or profile without a parent or guardian present and consenting.
By using the App you represent and warrant that you meet the age requirement and that your use of the App will not violate any applicable law or regulation.
4. Account & Access
Kid Storytime does not currently require user account creation. The App operates primarily on-device using Apple's ecosystem for purchase management (App Store) and local on-device storage. You access premium features through your Apple ID and Apple's In-App Purchase system.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Apple ID and device. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorised access to your device or Apple ID.
5. Subscriptions & Payments
5.1 Premium Subscription
Kid Storytime Premium is offered as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple's App Store. By purchasing a subscription, you agree to Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions and authorise Apple to charge the applicable subscription fee to your Apple ID account.
5.2 Pricing
Current pricing is displayed in the App at the time of purchase. Prices may vary by region and are set in the local currency of your App Store territory. All prices include any applicable local taxes where required by law.
The free tier currently allows 1 short story per day. Premium increases the daily generation quota and unlocks longer stories, background sounds, calming narration, custom lessons, and bedtime ritual presets. We may adjust quotas or feature packaging with reasonable notice, especially to protect service reliability and cost.
5.3 Billing & Renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually, as selected) unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account is charged within 24 hours prior to the end of each billing period.
5.4 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time via Apple's standard subscription management: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Kid Storytime Premium → Cancel Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain Premium access until that date. We do not offer pro-rata refunds for unused periods of a subscription billing cycle.
5.5 Refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests are handled in accordance with Apple's refund policy and must be submitted through Apple. We do not directly process payments and cannot issue refunds independently. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
5.6 Price Changes
We may change subscription prices with reasonable notice. Apple will notify you before your subscription renews at a new price and will require you to confirm acceptance of the new price. If you do not confirm, your subscription will not renew.
6. Free Trial
We may offer a free trial period for Kid Storytime Premium. Free trial eligibility is determined by Apple and is typically limited to new subscribers who have not previously subscribed to the same service. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your Apple ID will be charged the applicable subscription price.
7. User-Generated Content & Story Data
7.1 Inputs you provide
You provide inputs to generate stories (child's name, age, lesson preference, etc.). You represent that you have the right to provide this information and that it does not violate any third-party rights. You must not input personal information about individuals other than your own child or a child in your care.
7.2 Generated stories
Stories generated by the App are produced by AI models and are unique outputs. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use, save, and share generated stories for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not sell, sublicense, or use generated stories for commercial purposes.
7.3 No responsibility for AI output
While we take significant steps to ensure the App generates age-appropriate, safe, and positive content, AI outputs are not guaranteed to be perfect. If you encounter a story that seems inappropriate or concerning, please contact us at support@kidstorytime.app. You should always supervise young children using any technology.
8. Intellectual Property
8.1 Our intellectual property
The App, Site, and all related content — including the Kid Storytime name, logo, design, software, user interface, and prompting system — are owned by us or our licensors and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership right in the App or our intellectual property.
8.2 Limited licence to use the App
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use the App on Apple devices you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with Apple's Usage Rules.
8.3 Feedback
If you provide us with feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the App, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use that feedback for any purpose without compensation to you.
9. Prohibited Uses
You may not:
Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise derive the source code of the App
Use automated tools, bots, scripts, or other means to access the App in a manner not intended for human end-users
Attempt to circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with security-related features of the App
Use the App to generate content that is abusive, discriminatory, sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise objectionable
Attempt to extract, scrape, or harvest story generation prompts or underlying AI model outputs for commercial use
Misrepresent your identity, age, or relationship to any child when using the App
Republish, resell, or commercially exploit App content without our written permission
Introduce any virus, malware, or other malicious code into the App or its infrastructure
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP AND SERVICE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant that any generated story will be suitable for any particular child or context. Use of the App and any reliance on generated content is at your sole risk.
Kid Storytime is an entertainment and parenting-support tool. It is not a substitute for medical, psychological, or clinical sleep therapy advice. If you have concerns about your child's sleep, consult a qualified medical professional.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL LITTLE HEROES, ITS OWNERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP OR SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) £10 GBP.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Kid Storytime and its owners, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your violation of these Terms; (b) your use of the App; (c) your User Content or inputs; or (d) your violation of any third-party rights.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Grounds for termination include (but are not limited to) violation of these Terms, fraudulent or unlawful activity, or extended periods of inactivity.
Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 8, 10, 11, 12, and 14) shall survive.
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. Cancellation of a Premium subscription is handled separately as described in Section 5.
14. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where prohibited by the laws of your country of residence.
If you are resident in the European Union, you may also access the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights as a consumer under applicable local consumer protection laws, which cannot be excluded or waived.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will endeavour to provide notice within the App or by email where we hold your contact details. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
If you disagree with a material change, your remedy is to stop using the App and cancel any active subscription before the new Terms take effect.
